Man this freaks me out! Is their anyway to prevent this from occuring?? Mine is done 76000ks and its starting to make me a little paranoid as I bought mine secondhand.

Well, you could leave it parked in the garage!

One instance in a couple of thousand is not something that has me losing sleep at night. Yeah, you could worry about it but there are so many other fun things to be doing..... like driving your car.... like you just stole it :mexicanwave:

does that mean your last service was at 75000? so its done.....15000k's since it last scheduled service and then another 8000? 23000k's between services?  I hope I read something wrong.....or got my service intervals confusedor sumpin...... :spoton:  if it did do 23000k's between services I'd be amazed if the turbo still spun....

the next servie after the 75000k service is the 90000 isnt it? I dont have my service book in front of me so I may be wrong...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Cripes :stupid: My Phoon has just hit 23000kms and now has had its 4th oil change and it's second change of tranny oil. My service dept guys reckon I am over doing it but wtf it is my money and my car..... it's not like it is stock :tease:

Just glad I am not on that dreaded list ( saw it on the puter myself)......onya chaps :mexicanwave: BTW APS Zorst , fuel pump and nasty green injectors are a bit of a give away.

Thanks for all the input guys... lays my mind to rest for a little while anyway...

Still waiting to here back from Jarvis... they diagnosed the problem Monday the 27th by midday so surely they should have an answer from Ford today sometime...

I have rang ford and spoken to some whacker... he told me it may or may not be covered under warranty.... !!! BULLsh*t it wont... I have done nothing unusual with the car at all... They have always serviced it... although it was  bit overdue for the last service... by 8000kays or something... Still wasnt low on oil or anything stupid though....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Ooops - I think I just saw your warranty fly out the door. Just the thing that Ford will grab with both hands and not let it go. You have given them the perfect OUT.

Good luck anyway but if I was you I wouldn't be getting my hopes up at all. I've known Ford to get out of much less costly (for them) warranty claims on much less grounds than you've given them.

Hmmm,

perhaps I'll stop complaining about my mob up here then...they replaced the turbo even after I over ran the service interval (not by much though)

You mentioned backfiring. The LPG BAs had alot of problems bending rods due to backfiring. that's why they put in a stronger rod on later models. Make sure you mention this backfiring to Ford and the dealer.

Its seems you've been taken by the dealer on some work that should have been covered by warranty. Its obvious cars aren't your domain but if your car is stock then all should be covered under warranty. These cars arn't that bad. I think its the dealer that's puts this bad taste in your mouth.

Well heard from ford Yesterday they are going to replace.. the Engine with new one ... Thnak god....

They have also located and sorted a loan car for me from hertz...

So I think they have done their job correctly and I cant knock them really...

The dealer had to send photos of the bent rods and detials of service and computer stats to ford to finish the process once they did this ford got back to them with three hours...

I have to take back some of the bad things I said now...

Being a store manager of a BP servo I find it very, very, unlikly that it was a fuel problem, but don't get me wrong, it does happen, just very rare especially with ultimate, trust me that 10c extra a litre you pay doesn't equal profit. But it would take a fair wack of detonation, enough that you would definently notice to bend a rod at stock boost levels. but I would recomend that you take 2 fuel samples from the tank one for you and one for the servo you bought it from, if it is the same tank. As if ford don't cover the engine, you might have some luck getting some money from BP if you can prove it, I have herd of this happening before, but don't hold me to it. good luck mate as mine is just hitting the 85,000km I am interested to see how this will turn out, let us know how you go.

I find this a little hard to beleive, I work for a fleet company and we process at least one claim a week for contaminated fuel!

Well done mate - you are very lucky indeed. It seems that even though your dealer has put the rip into you over some things he has made it up to you here because if he'd told Ford about the service history they could have baulked. Good luck with the new donk. :spoton:
