Turbo/manifold bolts ARE covered by warranty, they are to be checked at EVERY service and re-torqued as necessary. Also, handbrake adjustment $80??! that's outrageous, you shouldnt pay any more than $40 as its a 5 minute job. Brakes are an inherant problem but if you spent the money on some premium brakes you wouldnt have the problem ever again. If you have any more issues with that dealer I would go to another one, there is a dealer near me who will never see my car again so now I have to drive 30 minutes to get servicings, but I know they will look after me.I hope you get the motor sorted.Steve

Hope this all turns out positive in the longer term for you.Dingah

Posted 28/03/06 04:49 AM Share Posted 28/03/06 04:49 AM Sounds like detonation due to bad fuel.Did you buzz the motor (over rev on a downchange?)get a sample of the fuel in your tank and hang on to it, I could see ford refusing a warranty because the fuel you used was substandard (because the servo sold you something not up to scratch) then you'd have to take it up with the servo...difficult to say the least. (do you run on a fuel card system? you could prove where and when you got the fuel that way)17 posts and all of them about problems, you should socialize here more often....... But it would take a fair wack of detonation, enough that you would definently notice to bend a rod at stock boost levels. but I would recomend that you take 2 fuel samples from the tank one for you and one for the servo you bought it from, if it is the same tank. As if ford don't cover the engine, you might have some luck getting some money from BP if you can prove it, I have herd of this happening before, but don't hold me to it. good luck mate as mine is just hitting the 85,000km I am interested to see how this will turn out, let us know how you go. Farking hell! That won't do you any favours when trying to get warranty. I don't know how you would stand legally but I wouldn't be supprised if they knock you back on that alone seing as the car hasn't been maintained to the required specs.
