unfortunately frank it,s blokes like us that make it hard,we mod our cars to make awesome power levels and then some people try to claim warranty when it goes pear shaped I think you play you pay but if you have no serious mods they should fix it and fast, best of luck

Should be pretty straight forward, particularly if you take it to the dealer who performs the service, as they would know the car and it's history.Being that the car has never been modded , Ford WILL have to warranty the vehicle unless they can prove otherwise. You may however have to accept a rebuild rather than a new donk :spoton:

WOW

I guess it shows that there are real failures out there which should be done under warentee, but like said before this type of faliure is normally caused by high boost from mods

All the best keep us informed

I know a 260 5.4 that threw a rod/piston? Dont know the full details but apparently it screwed the block. Ford can detect the number of times you hit 5000rpm, so unless your stupid they will fit the problem. I had a new engine under warranty due to oil consumption. Like any car some experience problems but you dont hear of many.

There is a problem with weak rods on the xr6t even in stock form.Ford will not admit this but there is an inherent problem there.Ford will look at any type of engine failure suspiciously. The scenario will be that Ford head office will request motor be stripped and sent to them with computer. From there they will analyse motor to see if rod bent due to assembly error or pinging overboost problem.

Note that Ford is fully aware that stock standard cars were overboosting which was one reason why they reflashed any xrt6 that came in for any type of service.

In a nutshell Ford has no option but to honour the warranty as the car is standard.Im quite sure they will replace the powerplant ie) short motor and maybe even head if it has copped a hammering.

All other parts will be your original ones unless Ford deems them to be damaged.(eg turbo).

AS LONG AS THE CAR IS UNMODIFIED THEY SHOULD HONOUR THE WARRANTY.

WORST CASE SCENARIO WOULD BE FOR THEM TO GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT THEY WILL END UP FIXING IT.

MOST LIKELY SCENARIO MOTOR WILL BE REPLACED WITH EITHER RECONDITIONED ITEM OR NEW.

Hope this helps

Thanks for all the input guys... lays my mind to rest for a little while anyway...

Still waiting to here back from Jarvis... they diagnosed the problem Monday the 27th by midday so surely they should have an answer from Ford today sometime...

I have rang ford and spoken to some whacker... he told me it may or may not be covered under warranty.... !!! BULLsh*t it wont... I have done nothing unusual with the car at all... They have always serviced it... although it was bit overdue for the last service... by 8000kays or something... Still wasnt low on oil or anything stupid though....

See how it goes I guess... will keep ringing them over and over.,!!!

Can tell you with all the problems I have had with the car will never buy a FORD Again!!!

Just a few problem I have had listed below...

Broken Gear Selector (wouldnt go into Park) they replaced the whole assembly

Driver side Elec window Broke Twice and was replaced

Rear Right Actuator for lock broke (replaced)

Rear Left Actuator for lock broke (Replaced)

Drivers Side Door Actuator lock broke (Replaced)

Bolt came out of exchaust manifold while driving (They replaced it was not covered by warranty))!!! Had to pay $80.00!!!!

The stupid Hand Brake Problem had to always pay for re-adjustment... $80.00 each time..!!!

Brake shudder only fixed at 60 K service... finally!!!

I reckon the car has had a warranty item fixed every Service and some....

I totally understand why people dont buy Australian Cars they are CRAP!!!!

I have a few friends with Holdens Similar Problems which sounds right.. they all use same parts anyway!!!

Never Buy a FORD.... There service sux and there cars are even worse... Not to mention the Huge Depreciation all their cars have... mines worth less than half now..!!!

Paid 52K now I am lucky to get 22K ... GEEZ!!! that's bad!!!

Sorry if I sound angry but I am sure you will all understand!!!!

make sure it covered by the warranty and if they try to avoid it and say "it is not being covered by warranty", tell them the car is stock and have never been modified and that they and the rest of Australian population will hear from you on "Current Affair".
