You may however have to accept a rebuild rather than a new donk

Dont know the full details but apparently it screwed the block. Ford can detect the number of times you hit 5000rpm, so unless your stupid they will fit the problem. I had a new engine under warranty due to oil consumption. Like any car some experience problems but you dont hear of many.

Excessive vibration? Detonation?
boost69 Donating Members 737 Member For: 19y 7m 18d Posted 27/03/06 11:34 AM Share Posted 27/03/06 11:34 AM There is a problem with weak rods on the xr6t even in stock form.Ford will not admit this but there is an inherent problem there.Ford will look at any type of engine failure suspiciously. The scenario will be that Ford head office will request motor be stripped and sent to them with computer. From there they will analyse motor to see if rod bent due to assembly error or pinging overboost problem.Note that Ford is fully aware that stock standard cars were overboosting which was one reason why they reflashed any xrt6 that came in for any type of service. In a nutshell Ford has no option but to honour the warranty as the car is standard.Im quite sure they will replace the powerplant ie) short motor and maybe even head if it has copped a hammering. All other parts will be your original ones unless Ford deems them to be damaged.(eg turbo).AS LONG AS THE CAR IS UNMODIFIED THEY SHOULD HONOUR THE WARRANTY.WORST CASE SCENARIO WOULD BE FOR THEM TO GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT THEY WILL END UP FIXING IT.MOST LIKELY SCENARIO MOTOR WILL BE REPLACED WITH EITHER RECONDITIONED ITEM OR NEW.Hope this helps
