I ordered my XR6T the first week of December 02 and delivery expected Late Feb early March 03. Extra's, well I went

I thought, bugger this. My very first ford and my very first XR and I would spend some extra $$$$. It hurt but it will be worth it I am sure.

I also have ordered special plates, HOT XR6. :o :o

I simply can't wait.

A lame question - I just ordered an xr6t ...then discovered this great site a couple of days later...(was very very close to getting a WRX due to the long wait for xr6t but having looked at this site gives me some comfort the wait will be worth it...)

Anyway, I note many people getting their vehicle with window tint.

I assume this is a dealer option ...approx how much does it cost....would be very useful here in qld

It is a dealer option as you say. We had ours done locally by Novus, cost $340. Well worth it.

l dont know if you are aware but you cannot use metal based tints on the rear window as it interfers with the signal picked up by the aerial. See link to the discussion on this ....

I'm in the process of finalising quotes, & am lead to believe delivery will be early April.

With regard to window tint, I required minimum lifetime warrenty (minimum 5 year on rear glass as it needs to be a die based tint due to the antenna) and have received quotes varying from $220 to $450!

I have also changed my exterior colour preference several times over the past 4 weeks: venom to phantom to acid rush venom to phantom to blueprint.......it just depended on what was the most recent colour I'd seen on the road! I reckon I'd be happy with any colour!

PS. New Years Eve saw phantom XR8 delivered under raps to local dealer whilst I was viewing a acid rush XR6T. Dealer priced it at $51K (base model, no accessories or factory options). Due for official display on 13/1/03.

Mines only a NA as well, don't flogg me too hard...lol. If I was more financial, believe me, a XR6T it would be. If I win the lotto...lol. Fleet of Turbos, GT, Pursuit Ute...etc, etc.
