I gotta say in my experience, sales was shyte, service has been great.

I don't like taking the car back, it is an inconvenience each time (that being three times) but the staff are professional and have a let's sort it attitude.

For me it has been:

windscreen howl, replaced with thicker bead

leaking coolant

brakes (yes I have the standard) but, they were OK just noticable - the dealer machined them anyway.

let em fix em, just had my disc machined again, second time in 16,000k's, they will continue to machine, replace rotors, whatever until this is fixed. One thing that absolutely RILES me is when you take your car in for some kind of fix and you pick up the car and they say "yep she's right now mate, and you drive out of the dealership and see the problems still there immediately, makes me want to go into "TERMINATOR MODE"

Hope you don't keep guns in the house. :D :D

But merc, can't agree with you more, and as I said in my post about service manager hating this forum, why do you need to prepare yourself as if you are going to go into battle every time you take your car to them, pisses me off no end.:angry:

On the discs, just before warranty runs out buy a set of DBA's and get them to fit them free rather than replace the standard ones.

Relax Silver I just got into "emotion mode" there for a minute, I'm just a quiet kind a guy really, though on the brake thing, if after warranty time is up and their is no proper fix, some peope may be, well, slightly unhappy!

Hey all!

New here obviouly!

Had my na xr6 ute for 18mthns now, done just over 50000ks and just had to get my serpentine /drive belt replaced!

It was really badly chaffed on edges and had actually taken a couple of chunks out of the sides!

Luckily I noticed it when I did, but any way I took it down to the local Ford workshop, picked it up about an hour or so later, expecting to have it covered under warranty, and the b@stards charged me $140. :w00t2:

They said it wasn't a warranty issue coz they usually changed them between 60k-100k

Has anyone else had this prob?

Dynowog noticed mine was wearing and got me a new one and fitted it for me. my car has only done 40000km's. Apparently if the car is driven harder they wear quicker. Cant remember what it cost though. If anyone wants Nick to change theirs just send him a PM and ask how much.

Geea. :w00t2:

I am assuming you mean the main belt at the front of the car. Air Con compressor/power steering etc. If so I had mine changed for similar wear at no cost under warente due to noise and wear at 55,000kms. Earlier I had a bearing replaced in one of the tensioners so maybe that is why they did it at no cost to me?????

I had mine replaced at 15,000 Km, I was getting a whistling noise when starting cold. They changed the adjuster, idler pullies and belt under warranty. Apparantly the pullies were burred with was damaging the belt.

Yeah they said that they checked the pulley's etc!

But I'll get my mech to check it all coz I know they have pretty :w00t2: mechanics working on the cars, if your not lucky enough to get an apprentice! :spoton:
