Just after info on what guys have done to there ute suspension.

Seems I have a new problem rear it's head last night. Upon getting a bit of grunt to the ground, I found the rear axle "Roll Bind" or get a bit of axle wrap or whatever you call it..

I hit 3rd gear and as it hooked up (opposed to spin), it speared me of the side of the road, luckily to the right. Snap oversteer or whatever they call it. I understand the process of what happened, but what have guys done to help rectify it??

I'm getting alot of tramping with grip, so some anti-tramp rods will see their way in..

Has anyone fitted better bushes to help rectify the problem???

Not keen on going thru that agian, damn near sh@t my pants......

Straight line, I hit third, the back end hooked up and speared me off to the right, like the back wheels were steering..

The 'process' as I understand it is when the axle 'wraps' the springs and tries to rip them from under the car..??

Know what I mean?? Sorry for all the techno jargon..

Anti tramp rod's would help for sure and would be a good purchase anyway, but sound's like something broken or worn out to push you right that hard mate! :censored:

Ah..OK.

I agree...sum'ins not right, one spring would have to flex more than the other, or you lost traction on the right wheel....

Hey mate,

I think there was a write-up somewhere in a magazine that made mention of 'Caltracs' which is basically a converts the leaf spring set-up to that of a fourlink system, and helps control axle-tramp reducing and limiting the amount of energy forced onto the leaves.

www.calvertracing.com is where you'll find the information, but I've only heard of THR Developments in SA having a similar set-up in Oz. Good luck either way
