For what its worth a friend of mine recommended I try Federal SS-595 tyres after some very good reviews from members of his car club. While these guys all drive WRX's I thought it was worth trying.

I have had them on my Phoon for 8000km and all I can say is they are awesome. Very underated due to their relatively low cost ($230 a corner). But they outperform the SP9000 by a fair margin in the wet and dry. Unless something dramatic happens I will be getting them again.

I had Toyo Proxies on my XR6T and they were complete crap. Worse than the 95% worn SP3000 that came off.

If money is no object and you need to get the best, buy the PS2. If you want to try a great tyre that outperforms the SP9000 at half the price you can't go past the Federal SS-595.

Ive been running yokohama es100's and pretty happy with their all round performance. Theyre only a fly sh*t cheaper than the advan v03's so ill be trying them next time for sure.

Shane

I had these on my ute.

Compeared to the TOYO Trampio TPG, they are rubbish, In all honesty.

I swore by the ES100 on my last car too..

Which ones didn't you like, the ES100 or the Advan v103's?

I'm thinking either Michelin PS2 or Yokohama V103's for my next tyre.

The Yoki's are going on my car tomorrow. Everyone here seems to love them which is good enough for me.

ES100's are too hard ( compound ).

F6_Tornado struggles for grip with his V103's.

what about the eagle f1 GSD3's ?

I have these on a XR6. Great on my car and good value, but dunno how they'd go on a phoon as they feel softer than the standard Dunlops. But they are sensational tyres in the wet - about as much grip as the Dunlops had on dry roads!

Go for the Yoki's, they grip real good. They might have a grip isuue if your dropping the clutch at 3000rpm to hurtle down the quarter in a highly modded ute :nono2: , but for normal and/or high performance day to day driving, they leave the Dunlops for dead
