Hey Pete...

What have you done to it to make it just a little modified?

I've been thinking of getting mine down to my garage and lifting the bonnet to have a look as to whether I can 'free' it up a little more...

You have pricked my interest!!

Let me know...

looking at getting an induction kit for my ba xr6 non turbo. ive looked at the ss inductions website and they claim that it will give an extra 8 rwkw. how many rwkw do you reckon the typhoon/xr8 cold air intake would add? would the typhoon/xr8 one also help with fuel efficiency?

My XR8 has an SSI CAI and I am very happy with it, definately helped mine breath better. Looks shiploads better than the stock view too I can tell you.

I bought one for my boy for his VY SS ute for Xmas and he loves it.

I'm not sure why but a lot seem to poo poo SSI stuff, all my SSI stuff is absolutely tops. No problems at all and does what it's supposed to do. So I find it hard to understand.

I buy off eBay and save heaps as well.

I've noticed this too... seen it been called SS Reductions... but from my personal experience it worked for me... back to back on the same dyno against a standard car... as stated above...

take a look at the pic I posted and u can see I cut the top section of the intake, which lets heaps more air in!

Nice one... I think I now have a bit of a job to do this afternoon!! Cheers Pete.

Yeah, I know there are two different types and that the turbo model has a thicker plastic, but I took it back and had it checked and it was deffinately the right one for the turbo.

They seem like a good looking unit but just didn't work in my applications. I also think that 2 cai is better than one. After all with the SS unit you still only have one inlet hole that the air can squeeze through.

No matter how big the duck behind thr grill is it still only

gets its air from the gap betwwen the bonnet and the radiator support

whitch is not much.

Phoon CIA is the goods.

as a side note SS inductions on a LS1 looses 10 to 15kw

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

They have scoops that channel extra air up to the intake from behind the rad' grill.

My boys bumometer needs recalibrating then cause he said it helped it heaps ( he also chucked in a K&N at the time).
