Great pics as always Mattson

Just spent the last week up the north coast of NSW with the Blad 503cx even got up predawn a few times to take a few beach sunrise pics but the weather would not play the game each time.

Its been good getting back to film after using digital for a few years,I think there is is a whole lot of the experiance missing when shooting digi, its just way to easy to let modern cameras do the thinking for you and you become a bit insulated from the Art. where as picking up a fully manual film camera and making all the decisions your self, I find I am enjoying the experiance more as instead of shooting 20 or 30 frames for one subject as I would with Dig, being limited to 12 shoots per roll with the Blad I took a lot more care with each shot and would only depress the shutter relase when I was absolutley happy with every thing, in the end a lot more satisfying and involving process

so getting back to basic is definatley on the cards more often.

I think and going back to work tomorrow and picking up the 1DS Mkii maybe a bit off a struggle

Great pictures

I can appreciate the art of film shots, but it is awsome having a SLR digital and being able to peel off 20 shots, just to make sure you have it right.

I used to do photography at school, but did not continue on after I finnished, so I lost the art of shooting propper pictures. I recently got a Nikon D70s and I must say it is the best digital SLR for the $'s I could find. The full manual features are great, + it will do full auto.

It is funny giving it to someone to use and they look at the screen at the back and say "its not on". They think it is old fasioned using a viewfinder until they see the quality of the pictures.

Now I just need to read the manual to work all the bells and whistles.

Olympus have just released a digital SLR with a active veiwfinder on the back of it :)

there is a review on dpreview.com it looks like a nice camera... and the way technology is going it makes sense not to use conventional veiwfinders to take the shots when the flip out screens make for some great perspectives
