How does this affect the engine. Obviously it sounds good but what are the benefits? Better fuel economy?? anything else I missed?? Would the PCM detect this and go all crazy on me if I went this option theoretically??cheeersalways forgetting something. Perhaps someone has a picture for me so I could see this oil catch can setup or point me in the direction where I could see one setup on the XR6Tcheers again Edited 20/03/06 11:37 AM by BA_XR6Turbo_Ute Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/24143-ventilation-valve-on-crossover-section/page/2/#findComment-361775 Share on other sites

Just quickly though.....with a forced induction motor after time you get what is called Blow Bye which is air being forced past the piston rings. This air then travels through the block and back up through that little hose you are speaking of and back into the intake. This is bad because having oil in you intake air will decrease the oxygen content and therefore decrease performance/economy etc. This oil is also known to collect dirt in the throttle body and in some cases cause throttle issues. There are quite a few other people here that have noticed this oil in their intake piping.Oh and the PCM wont know any different because all you are doing is removing the unwanted oil from the air. Hopefully you were thinking of PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) or whatever MOFOCO calls it on this engine.
