Hey there guys and gals

I need a bit of help

I was cleaning my car and decided to give the engine a light rub down from some of the dust build up

I was going over the section on the crossover bit where this vacuum ventilation valve is or something like that. I just glided over it and it bloody broke off  with the other half stuck inside the crossover section. The plastic looked very brittle, I'm guessing the heat from the engine bay had an effect on weakening this plasttic part. THe RACQ guy told me its for EPA requirements.

He patched it up for me but I just can't remember the name that he told me so I can tell ford exactly what needs to be done when I ring on monday

I've posted up the picture of the part and you can't miss it because it got red tape all over it

I think it was something ventilation valve or something like that

Again I'm just looking for the name of that bit. I hope someone can help

thanks in advance for the help

cheers

that's your rocker cover breather line.

Ford should replace that under warranty.

Cheers

Please tell me you took that picture before you cleaned the engine bay! What dustbowl do you live in....

Then again, I live in Sydney..... worst I can expect is if someone were to spill their Soy Latte on my car...

Yeah it is pretty dusty. Unfortunately that's what happens when its is my work ute as well as my everyday car and since I'm driving to and from work everyday.

Maybe I'll put in some research into cleaning engine bay but atm I just try to keep at half descent but then again brisbane is just one big dust bowl atm anyways. I just wipe the bits that are easy to get to.

Anyways I'll stop blabbing on now

cheers lads

also forgot to ask 1 more question. What is the section with the printing "turbo intercooled" so that I can say to whomever I'm talking to at ford, becuase you don't know if they are knowledgable enough to know what you are talking about, look the rocker cover breather linbe is broken at this end

cheers again lads

That's the crossover pipe... it contains the intake from the airbox to the turbo, aswell as the intercooler to the throttlebody.

What you want to do is to install an Oil Catch Can in that line which will remove the oil from the air before it gets back into the engine. But the simplest thing would be just replace it.
