Just had a call from a fellow "T" owner, his name is Laurie. He bought the APS car that ran 307kmph. He went to Calder last week and "only" managed a mid 12 and was a little disappointed. He has fitted a similar 3speed auto that Adam has and has 300rwkw's. He borrowed my MT's and afterwards said it was harder than he thought to get a quick time.

He ran again last night and mangaed a best for the night of 11.8@120mph. When he spoke to me he sounded a little unhappy with his efforts, this time on his own brand new MT's. I pointed out that his time would put his car at about number 10 on the Fullboost list of fastest "T's" and that 120mph was spot on for 300rwkw's. His 60's were 1.9x-2.0x. I told him that with a few more runs under his belt he'll drop his 60' and his times.

The car was tuned by HPF and gives them their 3rd car in th mid 11's with 300rwkw's and I think it's their 5th in the Fullboost top 11. Alot of people say that you need to back up your dyno numbers with 1/4 mile times to get a true indication of your cars power and drivabilty. I'd say that on this count HPF would be second to none. :spoton:

Very impressive work from HPF. Well done. :spoton:

As you mention Craig, once Laurie gets his launches sorted, he'll knock a few more tenths off that time.

That's an excellent result for him geea! Gotta be happy with an 11 sec qtr, must be an absolute animal to drive!!

Excellent production from HPF too, you can't go wrong with the tuners in Melbourne, comptetition is great for the industry, it makes everyone better!

These cars throw down crazy numbers... only 5 or 6 years ago this was unheard of amongst daily driven street cars and it now it is beginning to become the norm...

AWESOME!!

I think that the competition between tuners in Melbourne has got that big that one of them should move interstate..I know of some nice units in the Hills districts of Sydney that would be good. :spoton::spoton:

I guarantee they would be kept busy with tuning alot of XR6T's. :pinch:

nice work :spoton: , so did APS detune car when they sold it to laurie?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think Laurie told me that it had 260ish rwkw's when he took it to HPF. I also told Laurie that when the car ran the 307kmph that it had the 3.23:1 XR8 diff gears in it and if they were still in it it could be affecting his times abit too.

Well done to all concerned - hopefully Laurie can get a little more out of it with practice till he is happy - still a very very respectable time regardless of his expectations! Another good result for HPF at the track!!!! :spoton:

Cheers,

Ben.
