Hey

Has anyone tried to fit up a bf or ba sedan irs to a ba or bf ute? I've been looking at their undercarriages and I think its quite possible to do. Has anyo0ne tried this? I am sick of the leaf spring on my ute, its good for what it is though.

Not that I know of mate, the abs sensors are different so the ecu would need an edit or re flash after the irs went in for starters.

I like the leaf spring set up in mine from a performance point of view, it is very predictable and I can run more power and launch harder than the sedan guys because I don't have to worry about shattering the CV joints in the irs setup.

Your right about that, in a drag racing point of view. For cornering the leaf springs can make the ute very unpredictable at racing pace. For drifting its ok, but the ute also lacks enough lock for some situations.

What about a 4 link setup?

I know Nizpro have one in their ute and that's going to be used for track work.

caltracs will only work if you dont have a lowered ute. I have tried to fit them but there was only 30mm of ground clearance due to the height of my ute.

man a 4 link is still not my cup of tea, its a very old setup. Sure the v8 supercars use them, but that's only due to cost factors. Is the ford control blade irs as good as a silvia or r32 gtr irs setup?
