Thanks guys much appreciated.

By about mid year or abit after I will be looking at buying a car. The options are VY SS or an XR6t. I have been reading these forums for a long time and seems value for money / bang for your buck the xr6t and SS are very similar still not sure which path to take though.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Valve springs seems to be a bit of an iffy subject I think. I know that with the generic capa 10psi tune I am having valve spring issues but it seems to be only in certain instances (when the engine is a bit cold and high revs). I have been told a Cat replacement will help this situation if not fix it completely. I am considering this as well as a centre muffler removal (2 hotdogs) for the sound... and some twin pipes for looks.

One thing to consider Steve, if you do something about the cat then you will need a custom tune. And that's where the mod snowball will start gaining momentum :spoton:

Better flowing exhaust =more boost=more fuel (injectors) = trans / clutch mods = $$$$$$

Doesnt the cat have no effect on turbo boost? I dont claim to be an expert on turbos but my understanding is that the boost is generated after the exhaust manifold and the cat is much further down the exhaust.

Hey guys,

thanks again for the feedback. Just another quick question when you get your T "edited" does it run extra boost or is it still standard? do you get to specify how much boost you would like before the tune?

Thanks

The computer controls all of the perameters in the engine management including boost etc... The edit will enable you to change these perameters and you can increase the boost level, when and how the boost comes on and a whole bunch of other factors. The generic CAPA tunes available are 8psi and 10psi boost which is more than double what a stock turbo runs... you can really feel and hear the difference :spoton:

When you go for a custom tune you can specify how much boost you want to the tuner who will dial it in at the time of tuning your car. You can specify an amount but its better to have an idea of how much power you want instead, as the challenge is to get that power figure with the least amount of boost.
