Correct me if I am wrong, but GTHO (Grand Tourer Homologated Option). Cars specifically built in limited numbers, so they could be raced in Bathurst. Traditionally a V8. Why not a hot 6, lighter front end, better handeling. Shave alot of weight of it, and give it all the good gear as standard. Mmmmm, sounds nice to me.

Exactly - and as there is currently no publicity or marketing advantage for Ford to "homologate" a vehicle for racing purposes it just ain't gonna happen.

However two years from now this scenario may very well change and we may in fact see two "HOs" - one 6 Turbo and one V8 to be run in the 2008 Production Car Series.

funny thing about the HO, they had about 380HP wich is about 280kw, 10 less then a current GT.

To put it in proper perspective you need to consider that at the time a HO3 had 380hp the base 6 cyl XY had 130hp so near enough to triple. Can you imagine buying a production Falcon these days with triple the 190kw of the base 6? :spoton: that's why the HO was such a significant vehicle at the time.

how could ya force induct a v8, and then call it a gtho?

the originals werent S/C or T, so why do it to the new one?

GTHO = all V8 muscle, if another is to be made, make it all engine, but with big specs!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

but aint no bigger engine gonna fit in the falcon, so force fed is the way to go, I thought the engine tech was going to be borrowed from the s/c mustang 5.4L in the US if it ever got built.

I never said anything about a bigger engine, could easily work a boss engine to some big specs... maybe stroker kit, bigger cams, twin throttle body, exaust etc, doing all that for a standard 5.4, could put it up into some high numbers...

I allways thought it was Grand Touring /Handling Options. Thus it could be in any car.
