ATM my ute is stock but I am planning to get it lowered sl in the front and a custom height in the back plus the 18' speedy envi rims I have waiting for it I"m getting the custom height in the back because with just the tools in the back in drop roughly 10mm so I need something just a touch heigher than super lows and also I have to take into account the trailer later on so it will be dropeed but not really low as to accomodate these requirements that that I have set.In anycase I haven't had an issue with site access. I'm just very careful how I drive on a site and plus I'm very happy with itss load carrying capacity. I don't think you should have any problems go for the BF T. I am a surveyor and we use nothing less than dual cab 42d turbo diesels. We have 3 Navaras fitting that description, one Nissan Patrol and one XT Falcon (my car since I am the director and not in the field). My T is for the weekends and it is showing signs of fatigue and it NEVER leaves the raod, its only 28K old in 2 years and feels older than the XT which has over 50K in the same time. The Four nissans on the other hand feel brand new and they have all done 50,000kms in 12 months and most of that is highway then straight on to large earthworks sites in rain and dry, dust and heat, and some very large topo surveys with the GPS bolted to the bullbar. They get worked very hard and they feel great, still tight, still run beautifully, they average 9lt/100km of diesel and get 750kms per tank. They all carry 400kg of gear and steaks and two of them tow quads around for some surveys.I personally drove one for 9 months before I go the XT Falcon and movedinto the office and I enjoyed driving it imensly. If I had the XR6 from home instead, it would be trashed, absolute pig sty. I work long a dn hard to maintain the condition of my XR and it still looks bruised and battered from a long trip out west to visit my girlfriends parents. I love the car but Its NOT a tough vehicle in any sense. For hard work you need ladder chassis, turbo diesel, manual gear box and ground clearance, fuel economy and resale. None of which the XR posses.Although they would be fine if you were a sparky for instance and it was subjected to urban duties only. But I take it your not? But I take it your not?I only do residential and will more than likely stay in that field.I really only needed a car with a tow bar as there no way ill ever put a tow ball on the lancer.I have all the tools in the trailer but for some jobs the ute will carry all the tools I need for that particular job.As for sites the lancer has handled them fine even in the wet (awd) but the xr obviously won't be driven onto a muddy site. This shouldn't cause to much hastle as I can always park on the footpath if the site is not accessable.I really want the XR over the hilux for obvious reasons and I also want another car that I can take to a cruise or track day. Driving the lancer I miss having a RWD.I'm thinking now a Tornado seeing as though it has most of the things I wanted on the XRT anyway.I might be getting a deal from my boss soon so I'll just have to be patient.
