50,000 k's that's 3 services.....not once did they pick it up until the young bloke picked it up.... :tease:

damn good question!

Also, why did this XR8 owner think such oil consumption was acceptable??? :innocent:

Surprised he didnt query it earlier...

Prevoius car was probably an LS1. :spit::innocent:

Geea. :glad:

Your actually not far from being correct there. This mate didn't own a LS1 thought.

His car is actually the only Ford V8 out of all the V8 cars the blokes I work with own.

The others are Expensive Daewoo V8's and they seem to think that sort of oil consumption is

to be expected.

that happened to a guy I used to work with, he bought a HSV GTS for 100k and they put the wrong dipstick in it, it was always under oiled and eventually the motor blew up, got it fixed no problems though.

Dazza.

Spewing they found out it was the wrong dipstick. I told ford my engine was using oil and they did a few consumption tests (ie go for a drive and see how much it uses) and replaced the engine after 3000kms. Warrenty will cover it if there are any problems. Also excess oil will cause excess pressure on seals etc surely??
