Dr Z Member 378 Member For: 20y 10m 17d Posted 15/03/06 12:13 PM Share Posted 15/03/06 12:13 PM I am puzzled why you would assume a tuner may be at fault for a slower than expected ET and lower than expected trap speed? There are any number of variables that could account for this without implying any particular tuner has not adequately tuned your car. The slow 60' time is clearly a launch technique issue that once again may have a number of variables associated with it.Why am I posting this? I would not want to see an important thread where you are working out how to better apply your power down the strip tangent off into a tuner witch hunt when there may be more plausible reasons offered by the strip gurus. Safe and happy driving...Dr Z.

Posted 15/03/06 05:16 PM Share Posted 15/03/06 05:16 PM The 60' will affect your ET. A bad 60' will give a slower time. The MPH is usually higher when you have a bad 60'. The temp shouldn't be too much of a factor, my best time was done with a 26C ambiant temp. The humidity will slow the car a little. I'd be asking some questions of your tuner as 245rwkw's should be getting a lot more than 101mph. I'd think around 108-110mph would be what you should have. Your friend with 267rwkw's should be looking at around 111-114mph. This is assuming both are auto's. Manuals would have different expectations.I know of an edit only car with around 245rwkw's that ran 12.9@110 I think. With a humid night you still should have run 13.5@105 as a worst case senerio.Who tuned you and your mates cars? Let us know what the tuner has to say.Geea. Denser air and cooler air should contribute to more efficient power production in the cylinders.I see your problem in the 60' times - an auto should be 2.0 secs as a max IMO.I don't know about anyone else but I always seem to have a hard time launching at WSID. Not that I've done much drag racing, and nor have I done it on any other "official" strip, but I seem to be able to launch better almost anywhere on roads or tracks compared to WSID. That might provide some info that the well versed on the forum can comment on such as average low - midrange power.

C.S.I Member 651 Member For: 20y 23d Gender: Male Location: Gold Coast Posted 16/03/06 02:17 AM Share Posted 16/03/06 02:17 AM Just looking at my slips. I had 241rwkw (Edit only), over 5 runs, ran consistently low 13's, and a 1 off 12.98, with consistent 109 mph, with between 2.178 and 2.33 60' times. I reckon your 60' are probably close to the mark. I was stalling @ 2000 even. Was only 15 - 18 degrees though, no idea what humidity, @ Calder ParkLet us know what the tuner says Cheers, Alan
