Any more updates ??

No Idea of my boost or AFR's. Only got a graph of k/w and N's (POS).

Alan.

Theres a couple of Edit only cars in the 12's now with nothing but Edit, so a 14 is unbeleivably :spoton: , tuner should be shot!

I think Simon in Perth (xtreme) has edit only cars in mid 12's 12.6/12.7. He'll have A/F and boost.

Yes, but remember the car is a 6spd auto, and temps have finally dropped over here.. took there time though.

I don't think we've seen graphs or timeslips of this car??? Not saying it didn't run the times, so don't go there.

How does your post help this topic. The bloke from Sydney, complained about his car and it's performance. Someone else posted about edit only cars having run 12's. He asked for more info about such cars. Simon has such cars and probably has the information.

The 6spd may help alittle. If I was synical I'd think you were trying to discredit Simon, fortunately I'm not.

Answer #1.

It helps, because Simon, nor anyone else has run an edited only 'T' 4spd auto to 12.6/7 seconds down the 1/4. His own 4spd auto T runs 12.23 with intercooler, exhaust mods and injectors, bmc on good DOT 275 rubber. To imply a tuner is capable of tuning this particular persons car, or one like it with an edit only, and get a 12.6/7 would be misreprisentation of Simons or another tuners abilities.

pm sent..

I know this is a little late, but I found a really good way of explaining oxygen and why it doesn't exactly burn.

So I'll do my best on my understanding.

A hydrogen atom on its own is unstable, its electrons are in the outer shell of the atom and have alot of potential energy (like a rock on the edge of a cliff). If you try and ignite it though, not alot with happen, it will just heat up and expand slightly (the rock gets warm).

If it is mixed with oxygen (the rock is put on a balancing point of falling off the cliff) and ignited (pushed over the cliff) though, those electrons are very suddenly stabalised (rock hits the bottom, smashing whatever it hits, releasing alot of energy). The rock is still the same though, oxygen and hydrogen, its just at a lower potential state.

To combine with oxygen and lower its potential, it must give off alot of energy in the process, in the form of heat. This makes everything expand at an extraordinary rate; an explosion. The result is water. Water still has the same number of oxygen atoms as was present before the reaction.... So the oxygen didn't actually burn.

I found another site that says 'water is indeed the ashes from hydrogen and oxygen burning'. Its a funny way of looking at it, but pure water is the already burnt form of pure hydrogen and oxygen.

The sun isn't actually burning, per say, either... It's a reaction; there isn't any oxygen around to actually burn the hydrogen.

It's one big fussion reactor. The suns gravity and heat allow it to stay in a state of nuclear stability (though it really isn't, its going to burn out one day, but this would take billions of years from today to do so; it is just so efficient).

It's so hot, the atomic vibrations alone can now sustain the fussion process. But gravity keeps it from destroying everything in our solar system, and keeps the efficiency near 99%.

These are the only two things that continue the fussion proccess... They are vibrating that fast, not exactly burning.

Think of a light filament. Its glowing white hot, but it isn't burning.

Its the same thing with the sun; it's glowing white hot, but it isn't burning in the same way a pile of leaves burn...

Hope that helps (probably not).

I would think it was possible as there is already edit only T's running in the 12's and from what I have been told the BF pcm is a better setup than the BA's and the fact that Simon seem's to be one of those tuners that can actually produce results

It does seem you do have an issue with simon though

From personal experience with Simon, I can't fault the bloke!! Does a top job, great tunes, and very helpful any time I need some advice!! And the BF he just tuned with nothing more then his edit tune ran a 12.6... I'm sure he'd be able to get the time slip!! I personally wouldn't doubt a person with Simons credibility... not saying that any one is!!

I dropped my car at workshop yesterday. They spent a couple of hours with car on dyno. The car would do one power run and be ok,once he backed up another run the valve springs started to play up.I have had this happen to me but only after I have backed off..

I dont know if the valve springs are affected by the tune or mine are just CRAP.From what ive read Dynowog has the answer but who knows.I am looking at changing them but the prices quoted for labour range from around $600 to $800 which is alot of money for me to fork out at the moment.

They didnt charge me for the time spent with the car and were helpful.

I sent a pm to Simon last week and he has offered to do a help out if I can find someone who will let me use dyno to get graphs etc.

At the moment im thinking of going back out when it cools down a bit and seeing if car goes any better.

It feels good on the street and comfortably pulled away from a standard one on the other night so im baffled..

What about rwkw output yesterday, what were the results ??

You may get valve bounce, but at what power was that ??

Good Luck with it :spoton:
