Five out of six HWP officers at my local station prefer the XR8 or XR6T over the SS. I can assure everyone that they have no qualms at all about doing over 200km/h in the Fords - I've witnessed it for myself :fool::blink:

However they do have more issues with the Fords - always at the workshop.

I personally got rid of my XR6T because it was dangerous at high speed, I bought the car particularly for track days and runs up to darwin, but after twice to a track the brakes and suspension were finished as far as I was concerned, having owned holdens prior, I can safely say I feel they are a much more high speed reliable car than the ford. I bought the FPV cause I wanted to do track days, I would not bother with an XR, either 8 or 6.

Dont you see you F6 as an XR6T with some changes? The suspension is the same other than the springs. The brakes, can be optioned on an XR6T - or better if you go aftermarket (or similar to Brembos).

I like the F6s - but dont see why the owners think they are so different from XRs. They are very similar, with only a few changes.

If you think the Expensive Daewoo is more stable - fine, your thoughts are you own, but Id like to see some justification as to why an F6 is insherently better than the XR or Commodore.

Get a dozen cops or a dozen blokes off the street there all going to give different points of view....

Most people have their preferance when it comes to Ford and Expensive Daewoo and most people are usually a little one-eyed. This result could have been completely different if they asked a couple more Ford fans and a couple less Expensive Daewoo fans...

And this, my friends, is why we have that wonderful series called "V8 Supercars"

It sorts it out once & ford all. :spoton:

I was told that police prefer the SS over the XR due to better handling and stability (braking etc) at high speed.

That pretty much what my police mates say.
