Thanks for the replies.

Isn't it strange however that it has come on months after I changed the steering wheel? I would have thought if I did something wrong the light would have come on immedietely after I did it??

Oh well. Booked in for Wednesday.

New symptom leading me to think it is a lose plug... horn, cruise control and stereo controls on wheel are not working.

Now I just need to know how to disconnect the battery without the alarm going off this time as I think I have gone deaf from the last time it happened?

2004 model should have this all under warranty, I would just take it back to the dealership and let them sort it out. :spoton:

Started the car up today and the airbag light in the dash flashed a few times and then stayed on for the rest of the day.

Anyone have any ideas before I have to bring it in to Ford.  The car is still under warranty but they haven't seen the mods yet so a bit hesitant to bring it in unless I really have to.

Maybe not relevant as I have side airbags, but I get two quick flashes then a pause, and then the two quick flashes again, this repeats a couple of time until the light stays on permanently.

I have found that the connection for the side airbag under the plastic panel to the right of the drivers seat is dodgy, and turning off the car, disconnecting the plug, and then reconnecting again will fix the problem for a while, but it does seem to return after weeks or months, so I may have to look at soldering the wiring to the pins in the plug, as I suspect the crimping may be faulty.
