Harvyk is dead right, in that I'm trying to compile info before facing the tough task of dealing with the Ford salesman!!! :-)In the meantime, to get some feel of current falcons, I've driving the office wagon (!). Don't like the standard audio at all! Not to mention the handling, etc.... The gearbox downshift is far better than the Commode's thoughI'm thinking (dreaming?) of the current model XR6T with the 6spd autoSatz

I can only dream of how nice the 6 Spd Auto must be.But, with an edit, it goes from being very nice, to bloody fantatsic You cannot go wrong, they look and go great

I wish I had read more about manual vs auto and more about the F6s. In the end I am happy with my Mk2 manual, but could have been interested in an F6 had I known more about them (though they are expensive here in NZ).I suggest having an hour or tow and troll through lots on here. Ask more questions. If I was buying again I would consider:1. New vs Used (1 year old maybe)2. Auto vs Manual3. If Auto - get the BF for the 6 speed (all autos are quicker from a standing start than a manual with equivalent mods/specs seems to be the rule)4. If Manual - I would go for the 6 speed (mk2 or BF)5. If used - would have a hunt about for an F6.6. If new - would look about for a demonstrator, or sell out model7. Colour - there are some really nice ones around.8. Modding - if buying used, you can save a packet by buying someone elses modded car, just have to do some background reading on what is good with mods, and find out who modded/tuned the carThe Premium sound is 6 speaker in dash, and has bass speaker on rear parcel tray, and additional tweeters. Also gives you silly little things like light sockets under footwells.Other options to look out for:- may wish to order the Sports Steering Wheel- May wish to order the Custom Pack (Swede/Leather seats, Dual Zone Climate Control and different dash)Anyway - what ever you decide, they are great cars, they are fast, fun, look good. They unfortunately devalue fast, and have some teething troubles on some cars (most seem to be fine).Good luck.
