The tuner just used their dyno whilst he was in the district. Edited 03/06/06 05:00 AM by shootoboy

Did this mysterious tuner explain why so high?Did he try and fix?How was the AFR on the factory tune? Was there a mechanical problem with your car eg. dirty fuel/air filter or dirty injectors?Did Tuna fix this with his custom tune only or did you clean/replace filters or injectors too?Sorry about all the questions I just want to understand what happened

The orginal generic tune's AFR's were in the mid to high 12's, So this tuner had a go at making it SAFER as I requested, and the sheet above is what ended up with. The tuner responsible thought that the injectors may have been dirty, to explain the AFR's that his tune was making. So it left the workshop in that state & I had the injectors cleaned about a week after that tune by a fuel injection specialist not affiliated with the workshop where it was tuned, or by the tuner & they were perfect, & so was the fuel pressure & everything else with the car at this point in time. I didn't mention my independent test of the injectors to this tuner & played along, just to see where this would end up & the tuner assured me they would be returning shortly to sort out the issues. (Which they didn't)The generic tune I got with the box made more top end power (only about 2-3rwkw) and ran ALOT less boost (9psi) but also had substantially less mid range torque due to the amount of boost that this tuner was trying to run. (peak of 15psi!!), Hence the generic tune was far safer so that's what it ran around on untill a suitable fix could be sought. The other tune was NEVER used again. Now as stated, I had problems with BOTH of the tunes done by this tuner the other tune he supplied had problems with cold start idle, power delivery & the transmission! I did want it fixed, but my trust was gone & hence I found someone who could do the job right. And now - TO GET BACK ON TOPIC, I'm happy, & Street tuner is indeed a top tuner!!
