the new qualifying sessions are good, though I still think the last 20 minute session for the top ten cars should be a shootout style like the v8's, I find it more exciting than trudging around for 18 minutes burning off fuel, changing tyres and going hell for leather in the last few minutes. The last 2 minutes were awesome though.

The bahrain track is going to suck massive for the v8 supercars too, its to wide which will eliminate the close door to door racing that makes v8 supercar so damn good, china all over again for that one.

Dazza.

Should be a good race tonight , the teams seem closer with the new V8s

Pretty good race for a season opener...Alonzo got Shuey with 10 or so laps to go...could be another long year for Williams :pinch: although Rossberg did knock over a few fastest laps at one stage...Webber finished a credible 6th,not that you seen much of him

Raikonnen finished a very good 3rd after starting from the back of the grid

That would have to be the best F1 racing I have seen in 10+ years.

They were close, passed and dueled with eachother, finally it is not follow the leader... :pinch:

It definately was a good race and close too, good to see kimmi do so well from the back of the pack. Should be a good season for a change, I think schui misses his No.1 on the car.

Do they sound any different the new V8s that is compared to the V10s?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

a little deeper, throatier sound but there doing 20,000 revs so its nothing like a road going v8 (still pretty high pitched).

oh, and the williams scored the fastest (rosberg) and fouth fastest (webber) lap of the race so I think williams is in with a good shot of winning races this year. cosworth engine reported to be the highest revving (more the rev, more the power).

probably just that theyve changed to bridgestone this year so still getting used to the tyre characteristics.
