Once I put more pressure on, the noise goes away.I'm sure it is just brake pad dust or something, but it drives me crazy! Is there a spray I can buy or something which will get rid of this?RegardsDarren

IT stopped the squeel, but munched the disks. There are not many solutions, washing the disks with a high pressure hose will give you a few days of silence

Ford changed the pads just before 15,000km with the "new" type of pad. The squeal went away for about 5,000km and has been with me since.I have now got up to 42,000km and I have given up bothering about it.As mentioned earlier in the thread, its only there under light braking and goes away with heavy application of the brakes. So, for some fun, I now deliberately make them squeal when I see someone waiting at the lights with their window open.ha ha ha ha Evil I know, but if I can't get rid of it, I might as well share it! bangm001 Member 307 Member For: 19y 29d Posted 11/03/06 09:55 PM Share Posted 11/03/06 09:55 PM Yep, same problemo with the Phoon. Went back to ford about it (as well as other things) TWICE. They said it was "normal and just wearing in" the first time, and the second time after me complaining like hell, they "deglazed" the discs (in other words, they got the apprentice to have a pull over the FPV logos on the calipers and did nothing). Have had this since new, and now done over 10K. Ford will hear about it again soon and I will be demanding new pads, and discs to be machined-, but am thiking why should I have less useage out of mt discs because ford cant make brakes that dont squeal- I should get new discs. It is just a ford after all..

Posted 12/03/06 04:22 AM Share Posted 12/03/06 04:22 AM I also have this problem with the Premiums but most times it doesn't bother me. Having said though I will be changing to QFM pads if they make them for the Premiums. Not so much for the sqeal, more so for the brake dust that is generated!
