This test car has no factory-special parts. Other than the speed-limiter alteration, the 3.23:1 (XR8) diff ratio, the rear tyres and AP brakes (to keep the tester’s undies clean), it’s the same highly developed performance package anyone can have fitted to a turbo Falcon, and still walk away with change from 10 grand.Peter’s troops aren’t naïve about what can happen at very high speed, but they can’t be expected to know everything. The stuff they have thought of is the stuff I needed them to think of. There’s no way, for example, you’d try this on stock Falcon brakes, so four-piston APs are reassuring.SuspensionDouble wishbone, coil springs, anti-roll bar (f); Control blade IRS, coil springs, anti-roll bar ®Ok, so I was wrong on the suspension. Posted 13/03/06 02:16 AM Share Posted 13/03/06 02:16 AM I remember reading the APS turbo started to get a real buffeting from the air around 280, not exaclty the most aerodynamic of cars able to achieve those speeds.Dazza.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>It was a dangerous, egotistical promotional stunt. Look what cars were there on the day. Lambo's....Porsche. The latter being race inovators since the 50's no less. These are race cars made into road cars, not the other way round.Anyone who wants to race a family car at those speeds is a fool.Bloody unprofessional of the company if you ask me. My opinion only.Cheers<{POST_SNAPBACK}>What about the V8 Series? They run these styles of cars around a track at such speeds, I know a lot of work has gone into them so they can do it, but the areo-dynamics would be fairly similar given that the body shape is the same... Crikey.....
