I remember reading the APS turbo started to get a real buffeting from the air around 280, not exaclty the most aerodynamic of cars able to achieve those speeds.

It was a dangerous, egotistical promotional stunt. Look what cars were there on the day. Lambo's....Porsche. The latter being race inovators since the 50's no less. These are race cars made into road cars, not the other way round.

Anyone who wants to race a family car at those speeds is a fool.

Bloody unprofessional of the company if you ask me. My opinion only.

Anybody who believes that "speed kills" horsesh1t that floods our tellies is a bloody fool in my opinion. If speed kills I'd be dead 100 times over.

The steering wheel still works at 230, the brakes still work, its the same as doing 100, only faster.

Look, no denying IF you hit something, yep it makes more of a mess AND you must be more aware while going fast BUT going over 200 is NOT going to kill you just because "speed Kills" it just plain cr@p.

I've put over 40,000K's on the clock of my T and most of that has been @ or around 200. It's the T's engine that isn't up to it, not anything else.....

how about a ex cop car are they still limited at 230 or wot?

I once did it on the m5 at 3am and I hit 230 and it felt like the car would still go faster but had 2 slow down coz car was approaching

It also had an xr8 diff, which is how they got it to 307km/h

that's weird.

My stock T hit the limiter at 237 according to my GPS. And I sat at 220kph on cruise control. In fact I could set it at 200 and punch it higher using the buttons on the steering wheel!!!

No longer stock anymore. HPF removed the limiter with edit. Ill get it back to the NT in a month or two and ill find out for sure. Not game to do it in vic. I dont like jail.

Actually it was a 3.08 diff if I remember correctly - not out of a XR8.
