With no limiter the manual mk1 peaks out at 267.

when looking at a GT-P a while back, ford offered

to disable the limiter for me, they said it was 250.

the T sits very nicely at 180-200, over that they can get a bit twitchy and you have to put your beer down and use both hands.

cruise control doen't work over 200 either....

230 was kinda scarey but I think it's the fact you can't really read the road at that speed so unless you know its a dead flat road it's not wise... I thought the car handled it very well though (nullabor straight)

I remember reading the APS turbo started to get a real buffeting from the air around 280, not exaclty the most aerodynamic of cars able to achieve those speeds.

Dazza.

It was a dangerous, egotistical promotional stunt. Look what cars were there on the day. Lambo's....Porsche. The latter being race inovators since the 50's no less. These are race cars made into road cars, not the other way round.

Anyone who wants to race a family car at those speeds is a fool.

Bloody unprofessional of the company if you ask me. My opinion only.

Cheers
