Get edited and then run an external electronic boost controller. I have and eboost 2 on my ute and it has five boost groups that allow you to run different boost and wastegate pressures(i only use 2 though 5psi and 16psi) or get the exede most people that run them for map switchability(<----is that even a word.... :yikes: ) and the seem to speak highly of them....

If you could easily switch maps with a unichip,APS would have implemented it to combat the Xede which I believe is the only one you can just hit a switch in the cabin

I dont think he want to switch to a second unichip map ,but turn it off so that the factory computer takes over.

reach in under the left hand kick board and unplug it hey presto

serious though if you unplug it ,it will run on the factory map.so it shouldn,t be to hard to slice in a switch to bypass the unichip depend if you are running bigger injector or not as it wouldn,t be adviserable to run on the factory map with bigger injectors.

I dont think it will run if you unplug it, its the bridge between the wires that have been intercepted and cut.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

if you unplug it under the dash not under the bonnet it will run,I have tried it

Hmmm.....

Read this guys

http://www.xede.com.au/wiring/XWD%20-%20BA%20XR6_XR8.pdf

The way the standard Xede is wired, unplugging it means no engine running at all (you won't get Crank angle pulses, nor MAP sensors etc)

You will need to bridge 5 pairs of wires back into the ECU for it to be happy.

I can't imagine the Uni-chimp (spliced version) wiring will be vastly different to this. TBO240 do you have the later 'plugin-loom' style? That version acts as an extension to the factory loom, and routes the relevant signals via the Uni-chimp.

Removing that means the car wiring is stock==runs stock.

Also, weren't Uni-Chimp releasing live bank switching? I think it is due in two weeks?
