Unichip @ The Flick Of A Switch

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

Hopefully the answer is as simple as the question sounds, more so out of curiosity but should it be achievable without too many headaches then I'd consider having it done.

For those out there that have an idea as to what needs to be considered in implementing a switch, to allow input from the Unichip one minute and should there need be a reason to run the vehicle in a 'factory form'

Can this be done?

Regards,

Darren

It could be done, it would need to be through a bank of relays to control it as there are about 16 wires that are use with most of the piggies.

it would not be too hard, but why do it? for instant flick a switch high power tune? get an xede, it can be done easy as with it?

I am saying it can be done, but I would need a wiring diagram / install instructions for the unichip, and no it wont be plug in

if you are serious, give me a PM.

serious though if you unplug it ,it will run on the factory map.so it shouldn,t be to hard to slice in a switch to bypass the unichip depend if you are running bigger injector or not as it wouldn,t be adviserable to run on the factory map with bigger injectors.

I think that's what Christine was getting at, except rather than one "switch" you'd need sixteen of them.

I dont think it will run if you unplug it, its the bridge between the wires that have been intercepted and cut.

You can definately get a swicth that can switch multiple wires at one click. I have seen connectors that can switch around 20 or 30 pinned plugs from one connection to another.

Go and talk to a shop like Dick Smiths, and if they cant supply one, should be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.

It 'could' be done.

There is a 'blank off' plug which APS sell for tuners. Plugs into the harness, it runs on the factory pcm/ecu.

You could factor this into your harness, but what a job..

If you want 'instant power', get an exede with one 'map' with no values set in it, flick the switch to your second (modified ) map and you have a modified car.
