I'm pretty sure you first need to buy the small adaptor loom, once you have that I think it plugs in behind the tissue box holder.

aaronmihe posted the below document for a DIY aux audio install...

He's done a good job, but it doesn't address the problem of the Aux input needing to have a preamp, because the thing is VERY insensitive.

There is also the problem of whine that everyone has with the Aux input and premo sound system... But luckily this can now be fixed.

Does it fix the whine???

I would be interested to hear from someone who had/has whine then purchased the ford booster.

Not sure on whether you guys have to take the ICC out when you hook up extra audio components, as I haven't done any.... BUT, if you DO.... on a recent night course I did, they (FORD), state that if you tilt the ICC Module more than 18 degrees, you have the possibility of damaging the CD player by internal components dislodging if it is empty.

And under no circumstance, lay it down, as this will cause the liquid crystal display to deteiorate from that point on....

Only way to best avoid this is to keep the player full with CD's in the unit, and as upright as possible.

Apparently in shipping when new though, this LCD does not get damaged supposedly due to the fact that they have not been powered up. The CD players also have an "assembly" card preventing the CD player components from dislodging in shipment.

Just thought I should share info given on the course

Cheers

Good advice Adrian, Ford do make those claims, not sure I believe all of them, had mine out a few times over the years.

The ICC does not need to come out for the aux audio install.

No you dont ned to remove the ICC it's a simple plug in job as can be seen in the instructions from aaronmihe.

You just need to be a contortionist to plug it in.. :spoton:

I have the new plug and booster in the ute and had the old plug in the last car. Niether car of mine had the whine which some have experienced. Might try plugging the old one into the ute next weekend and see if it's there or not....
