Has no-one realised he's insured an NA '03 XR6 FOR $33K???????????

Of course it's going to cost you. Hell, what's the red book on these thing and what's current trade worth??

I once had a VL insured for double the current 'market value' ( at the time ) and it cost me a bomb aswell.

Try getting a quote for market value, not agreed..

Well, 30 seconds of research found:

Current trade in value-

$16,300 - $18,600

Current Private Sale Value-

$19,300 - $22,500

Give them a call, drop the insured rate and what you save will account for some of the depreciation..

I live in Perth have a driving history comparable to a demolition derby driver and pay $1200 through SGIO for a 2005 XR6T with no mods. Im 25 this year, so will be interesting to see how things change when I'm 25. I actually bought the T with no licence but didnt drive it away cos I couldnt insure it untill I got it back!!

mwhahaha.. 'demolition derby driver '

im 28, my phoon is insured for $55k and costs me about 740 a year I think, but no one under 27 can drive it...

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to have a car insured for market value when the options list is as long as my arm. If the thing is written off or stolen then it cannot be replaced for the "market value". Pretty simple, really.

Anyways, I'm probably going to sell the car now to get some more money together for a house. Wanna know how much a house is in Sydney?! Ha.

im 21, live in rowville drive an 04 xr6t

quoted $1702 from just car, $1812 from AAMI, and $1761 from RACV...

went monthly option with RACV because WHEN I mod it, they wont touch it... so ill just cancel and go with Just Car and fork out the 1700

How on earth did you get a quote from AAMI? They don't even want to talk to me until I turn 25 (only a few months away...)

Yes it can, you'll find cars fully optioned for the market value.. Hence why it's called market value.. You won't get a new one for your payout figure, but you can't expect to.

More to the point, you're probably tyring to keep the insured figure above the payout figure on your finance?? Nothing wrong with that, you get some kind of self re-assurance for the $$ your spending.. Simple??

As for housing prices in Sydney, well they're on the decline, at best up 1%. Try moving to Perth, we have a booming property market, house index is up 5.5%
