You can destroy your clutch by either 'flogging it' or by 'driving like a woman'.  So, you don't flog your car I understand.......

Does the clutch feel any different when you are not wearing stilettos?    :stirthepot:

Agree with Ian, spongy clutch is typical of broken fingers on pressure plate or lost of spring pressure (not sure what type of pressure plate construction they use). Or, air in the system that puts a spongy feel to the clutch however, that also typically results in clutch drag as the clutch is not fully actuating (full stroke) and can't release. If the pressure plate has lost its spring pressure or has broken fingers, it will also cause inadequate clutch plate lock and under heavy acceleration, the clutch will slip quite easily. Any symptoms of that or did you nurse it to the dealers?

Anyway, if it is a pressure plate, that should be warranty. If it is a burnt clutch plate (which shouldn't give the symptoms you describe) it is unlikely to be warranty.

Good luck.

p.s. Can always rely on you for a bite..... Damn, fishing is fun....

the dude did say something about the "fingers" last week

no problems driving it, didn't have to nurse it to the doctor .

I don't ride the clutch, don't do burnouts etc.. (umm coz I can't) :spoton:

Its early stages of a problem I would say..

I think it sounds like a hydraulic issue... spongeyness under the foot suggests to me there is either a seal problem in one of the cylinders, or air in the line, but I dont know a whole lot about clutches I'm just going on an experience I once had with a laser. The seals in the slave cylinder were buggered and the fluid was bypassing, the clutch would disengage the gears at first then slowly engage them again under their own steam.

Keep us informed Shaz
