Yes I do see what you all mean,

The yellow does stand out like dogs %#@s. Just quickly scanned the RTA website and holy :pooh: !!! Five hungee clams a year for custom plates...geee-zuss!!!

Vicroad is one off $400. May have to 're-locate'. The only good thing about the RTA is that they let you design your own plates online.

So there you have it, my next mod

Darren

Daz,

You are better trying to make up a non individual plate.

Using ABC 12Z or ABC 123 or AB 12 CD or N AB 123

With creative letters and numbers you can make up an acceptable plate, and it only costs $30 to make and $160 per year. This is for the new metalic series, I think the others are slightly cheaper.

My second choice was BFF 68U

darren, u dont need to put a personalized number plate as u can buy a blk and white one for 70 bucks and will not coast u a cent mo on your rego.....just do that for now and concentrate on your engine mods first.

If you are going to 'relocate' in order to get cheaper custom plates, I'd suggest the A.C.T. They have a one off fee which varies depending on the content, but basically for $1600 it seems you can choose your colour, choose your letters/numbers, add diamonds or spaces whereever you like, add your own logo and add your own slogan. I found that pretty cool.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you lie about the location of the vehicle for registration purposes, does this not void your insurance?

I can't see why, you can only rego a car in a state which you can claim residency (eg own or rent a house), I think the coppers may get a little antsy if you do not register a car in the same state that it is located, but I don't think it will null and void your insurance (however just tell them that you where visiting the place that the car was stolen from if the unthinkable ever happens)
