After all the fluffing about and telling them my life story, the fella on the phone tells me the car is insured for $34,000 I nearly fell off the chair.... Mine (2003 auto, premium sound) is insured for market value which they tell me is $33,500. Edited 28/02/06 12:32 AM by 192XRT

Posted 28/02/06 02:15 AM Share Posted 28/02/06 02:15 AM Remember those prices are what the insurance co feels that they may have to pay to replace the thing should it be written off, not what it's worth... Remember that if you write off your T in the next year they might not be able to find a good deal on a new (good 2nd hand) one that your happy with, as such they want to make sure they have already covered that angle... My car is 3 years old and would not be replaced. The insured value is what the cheque amount will be less any excess payable that they write out to me if it is either written off or stolen and unrecovered for the specified time.It seems to me that a whole lot of XT6T's will get written off or get lost if they keep this up.This black duck is too honest for that sort of caper....
