Based on my std T and clutch id say if you drive a manual youd want to consider an upgraded clutch. My clutch let go yesterday and took about 3 or 4 seconds to engage..........a nice stinky smell for a while. It still feels good now, but I wouldnt trust it.

back on topic

I am Warranty all the way....

I am not prepared (at this point) to gamble the risk of cost of possible repairs.

anyway I still have to master the launches at stock

Shaz,

Let me try and answer that in a roundabout way...

A custom tune enables the tuner to optimise the engine based on the fuel being tuned for. Dependant on how close you would like to run the the edge in terms of advance, you will improve the efficiency of the engine per unit fuel burned relative to a conservative Ford tune (particularly at load). This will provide the greatest advantage in terms of fuel econ if you choose to use 98RON fuel with standard tune anyway, as the car is not making the most of the capacity of this fuel on a stock tune.

The flip side is that if you are making more power, you are also likely to be increasing fuel load, which will push up fuel consumption when you put you foot down.

So to answer your question more directly, does the edit improve fuel economy, the answer is yes - it has the capacity to do so marginally, dependant on fuel used, and the tune provided. Whether you actually use less fuel will depend on the tune and how you drive...

Cheers,

Ben.

Yep - edit is awesome!

snip:

If you have a heavy left foot, increase power output requires more fuel, so when going hard your consumption will increase.

Well Ben, this explains why you had a poor night last Friday @ Calder. Gotta use the right foot a little more often

Thanks :spit:

I am currently getting about 300 - 350 k's a tank .

My area is fairly flat, with the odd hill and thousands of roundabouts, at which point the Phantom becomes possessed... :spit:

30k service was only 1000k's ago ... $80.00 a week is stretching the budget atm.. :tease:
