just cut a hole in the front of the box :) same result.

k31th.  Yes that's my step 1 plan.  Picked up a spare airbox yesterday to cut the front region out.  I would like the typhoon front snorkel as well but they seem to be very rare now.

Chuck in a gas air filter for 4rwkw of hectic goodness.

I never heard of that before.  So I take it they are more free flowing than a stock filter?  I currently have a K&N panel filter,  but there is much debate about whether they are any good and messing up with sensors with filter oil pick up.  Also allowing larger particles into the engine for that added wear.  You reckon replace it with the gas air filter then?

He's trolling with the "gas filter" change comment. It's not a real thing and even if it was you wouldn't notice 4rwkw increase in the bum dyno. OEM filters are fine as long as you replace them often enough; k&N and other variants are fine if you're willing to outlay the cost of 20+ service items. The airflow in the stock airbox is average at best and that's why you cut a hole in the front (which you need to do if you're fitting a typhoon snorkel anyway) which fixes that problem irrelevant of what (clean) filter you're actually using. Turbo-side intake and/or battery relocation if you're doing it properly.

Yeah nah I was serious, the gas filters are more free flowing, check them for yourselves.

If I had to recommend any kinda mods right now based on the convo, I'd get a upgraded intercooler kit with a turbo side intake and battery relo. Sure it cost a little more but will give you a solid foundation of cold air for future modding.

I fitted an Antz battery relo recently and while there is some cutting and drilling to be done, it fitted right in and is solid af.

do a back to back OEM clean filter vs OEM gas clean filter and get us some dyno results, bro! :P

Trying to keep it stock looking but will do the airbox cutout.  Up next will be larger intercooler and exhaust. I am not after massive power gains, and keeping it reliable. Will be happy with sub 300rwkw.
