The Champions Name is Kane.

I have used his dimension for my F6 CAI and they are perfect, factory fit :biglaugh:

The Typhoon CAI is an unresetricted part. Should be available at any ford dealer. You may have to wait for stock though. Cost is very cheap if you know the right people.

I agree - F6 intake is the way to go, I did mine without the measurements - worked it out myself and it was easy, so using the dimensions will make it even easier.

Looks exactly like it does in the F6 - not like a home bodge job on a $50,000 car.

There seem to be so many complaints about SS induction one (and it is very expensive) - so - make your own mind up.

Go for it...

I'll just reaffirm most of the views above. I've heard the SS Inductions kit is not only waaaay overpriced, but it's also of very poor quality and doubtful benefit.

As others have said, now that the 2nd 'Phoon style CAI is stock on the new BF T's, I think it's an unrestricted part. It may be a little dearer than the XR8 snorkel route, but IMHO looks much better and much more like factory - hell, for the new BF's, it IS factory!!

For the record, I also used Kaine's measurements and can confirm that they're spot on!

I also got typhoon inlet from city ford.took 1 hour to fit. looks factory.

part no.    fo-ba2t 9c676a

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Part No. BAF 9C676 B works perfectly with Kaine's measurements as well - Thanks Kaine

The parts guy was a bit confused over the various similar part numbers and parts pics available on the Ford system but this intake was $55 + GST and therefore about $30 cheaper than the phoon intake - not sure why, as the only difference I could make out from the various pics on this site (not seen one in the flesh) and the part I got was a slight profile change on the end that fits behind the head light.

As said by others, re-fitting the front bolt is a problem and I was originally going to leave it out but didnt want the risk of a "knocking noise" that in 6 months time I would forget where it might be coming from - persevere and it can be re-fitted but only by part seperating the new CAI snorkel from the "new" rectangular hole in your airbox, when in situ, and then using the hole to help fit and tighten the front bolt (8mm head) - a slow process, a turn at a time but fortunately the CAI snorkel is quite pliable for squashing out of the way (or at least the part number I had was) and then easing back into the airbox hole, locating perfectly on the internal ribs

It also helps to have a fairly long but thin 8mm spanner and a long screw driver type 8mm socket.

Be carful of the wires and connectors behind the head-light - brute force is not needed but rather careful easing and maybe a couple of goes to get it all in the right place behind the head light.

I am rapped with the results!
