I took my XR6 T to the dealer to get some of the interior fixed and in return they gave me the "LOANER"...

Standard BA XT... what a bucket of :pooh:

WOW I can not believe the difference between my T and this ..thing. No wonder lots more people like Holdens over Ford... I thought the BA was supposed to be this new amazing car.. Obviously the XR's and FPV are a class above but the average schmo that would get the standard BA XT would be so dissappointed I reckon...

The interior is all in the same place as the XR but it looks cheapo and plasticie and I have seen Taxi's that look better.

I dunno maybe it was just a special case but I was very dissappointed with it.. I cant wait till I get my T back. In fact, my El XR6 (now the missus car) has a better interior.

* I apologise if I offend BA XT owners but I just couldnt believe the difference *

The pove pack holdens are about the same level as well... (IMO they can be worse...)

I've driven XT's before (work has entire fleet of them) and they didn't seem that bad, (a family car, with a bit more get up and go than most), but your right it's certainly no where near the standard of the XR's...

Yeah it's not really fair to compare the two considering the price difference...

Also the SV6 is an strange sort of car, it has the look and feel of a pov pak, the get up and go of a snail, and yet the price of an XR... I was not impressed, you really had to go up the food chain in the Expensive Daewoo camp to get something that was compairable (look and feel wise) to the XR's...

I still found it amusing that a mate of mine who has an SV6 challange me to a race, right up until the point I took him for a spin in the XR... :spoton:

Also since it is a "loaner" , I imagine that it has been hammered around a bit..

How big is the difference between the N/A xr6 and the standard BA XT?

performance wise?

My old EL XR 6 that I had, had only a little bit more power than the standard EL's, just wondering what the difference is in the XR models..

performance wise the xt is probably quicker, acceleration wise, due to it being lighter than an xr, but the drive line in an xt is exactly the same as the n/a xr6. Better suspension in the xr though.

Having had a loaner XT for a couple of weeks while waiting for the F6, and then having a Executive crumpledore for all of last week, I can say the XT wins hands down.

A stock XT feels heaps faster, handles better and also stops better.

The car I had last week was a VZ with only 20,000km on the clock, but it felt like it had 200,000.

The car rattled and shook, made bad noises from the diff and gearbox. I was reluctant to thrash it as I thought it would break. The drivers side locking button came off in my hands.

I am going to change form Avis to Hetrz just because I am sick of getting holdens.

I read this so many times about how the XT interior looks "so" plastic in comparison to an XR or Fairmont or Fairmont Ghia. Blah Blah Blah........ :tease:

All the interior plastics in the XT, XR's and Farimont's is the same! The only difference between the models is the seats and trim. Apart from the additional features in the higher specs cars like Fairmont and XR with luxury pack the rest is all the same. :tease:

So I do not understand how someone can say that an XT interior is so much worse then their XR?? If you have a base XR6 or XR6T, your car is based on a XT Falcon anyway! Like I said before other then the trim, leather seats, leather wheel and the premium ICC if you have it all the other bits are identical.

Pfft the XT is a nice car for the price, add a set of alloys and they are a good daily driver...

I think you need to go drive an VZ Executive, its like driving an EL! They still run on 15 inch alloys and only have 175 kw, they are gutless and have cheap ass instruments, atleast the XT has a nice velour trim like the Fairmonts.
