SS doesnt weight 1800+kg though and the suspension is pretty good on them.

As for the arguement about 5 adults and luggage.. I know if I had an evo/sti I wouldnt buy it with that in mind so it is a kind of moot point. Could use the same arguement with the elise then, that's bad enough fitting 2 adults in it

I agree that the Lotus and Evo would eat the Falcon of any description around the track. They are designed more as a nimble car - no comparison.

But... The SS and SV8, and HSVs? Nope. There have been several articles comparing these with F6. The F6 has been quicker in straight line, lap times, rated better at handling bumpy roads etc etc. So - I think you are wrong there. (I dont have the names or editions of the magazines - I have just nosied at them in the shops).

The same magazines have bettered laps for HSVs over GTs and GTPs and XR8s (but not SSs and Sv8s that I have seen recently) - and in some cases the Fords have still won over all as they were a nicer all round car.

The only reason a HSV R8 could even get close to the F6 on the track is because the fitted Advan tyres that cost over $800 each and would be classed as semi race tyres.

I bet there are a few R8 owners not happy about getting under 10,000km from their rubber.

Does anyone know what mods the Clubsport DTS package has? I think only tyres & suspension upgrade right?

That one seems to be on 'roids! I read in Motor Mag BFYB it clocked 5.25 sec and very low 13s for the qtr mile pass.

I wonder if the F6 can pull those figures with only "cosmetic" changes without any engine modification.
