Please post if you have converted from the dark side to the blue oval

so that we mayhave an idea of how many have. I am constantly having conversations with my Expensive Daewoo fanatic friends that how many old Expensive Daewoo owners now drive XR6T`s.

Yep, I'm one. I had a VT GENIII auto. I had the engine rebuilt with aftermarket rods, pistons, head work, big cam, hi stall converter bla, bla, bla. Sold it 6 months after I got going, and ordered my current car.

Best move I did :hiwelcome:

Only owned one Holden, a couple of cars ago. Was a 2001 VX Calais V8, bas*ard was stolen from my driveway. It was only 6 months old and never saw it again.....

Pretty all the rest have been Fords (except for a couple of Mazda's when the money was tight).

I had a Late model camira VT 1998 brand new. When I got it, it was okay, but by the end of the lease, the auto gear box and other bits and pieces making rattling noises and the engine was harsh as anything and I felt it had lost its go. I always hated the useless skiport opening (so glad my XR6T has split fold rear seats  ). Got it because the lease was cheap at the time, I liked the curved look and did not think much of the AU look. Whilst waiting for my VT to be delivered, I'd hired a 1996 EL Falcon. It was great - I thought it was a bit floaty, but, man, it cruised well and had loads of room - including a split fold rear seat  Infact, it partly influenced me towards Ford for my past current 2 lease cars. I don't think I'd go back to Expensive Daewoo again with the current crop of models. Will be interested to see how the VE drives, but already I don't think much of its looks.

Well not much of a performance car but it was a holden.....actually about the only thing Expensive Daewoo about it was the badges.

It was a 2000 Turbo diesel Jackaroo. Probably one of the best looking jackaroo's in OZ by the time I sold it. Spent an arm and leg on it and pretty much wasted my money. The engine constantly gave me grief, and was going to put a GENIII in it but was all too hard.

I spat the dummy and bought a new MKII T.........best decision with cars I've ever made, have barely spent a cent on it since new. I still need to get another 4wd but have no room for one.

When I started my new job last year I inherited a VY Holden. I had an AU and 2 BA Futura's at various times in my previous job. Compared to the Ford, the Expensive Daewoo was like a car from the 70's! Terrible suspension, an awful outdated interior/dash, an engine that buzzed like crazy over 4000rpm, a confusing cruise control, terrible sound system..............will I go on??

Then I test drove a T and I immediately switched my car. Ha ha, no contest at all

I try to be objective, but I really can't understand why someone would prefer a Expensive Daewoo over a Ford.............seriously!

Had A VK GPA dunny door way back . Went ok for a while, but engine couldn't cope with the treatment my 4.1 corty put up with. Sold it and got a s2 ea 4 speed auto falc, that did over 200,000 hard kliks without a prob. Been back with fords ever since, my own fault for buying a you know what I spose.

Hi All

Over the last ten years I've had three Late model camira Acclaim Wagons in a row, VR11, VS11, VT11, all modified to improve looks and handling(Alloys, Kings Springs etc).

Then back in 2003 I test drove an NA BA XR6, BA XR6T and a VY11 SS Sedan back to back, no contest the falcon was just a better car all round, so I bought the Phantom Turbo and never lokked back.

Didn't even consider the AU, didn't like the look of it regardless of how it drove. One time when the Turbo was being serviced they gave me an AU Forte for the loan car and I realised how justified I was in my dislike of them, it was an absolute bucket of bolts, terrible car.

Now it'll take one hell of a car to get me to shift from my current ride. The BF Auto Typhoon is awsome.

Cheers

Big AL
