The  :spoton: Start button

FPV badges all over the place

You don't like the start button? That's one of the main things which attracts me to consider an F6, (more for novelty value than anything else). What is it which you don't like about that?

(Like you, I think I'd De badge it as much as I can).

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Oneday I will get around to disabling it.

IT is a major PIA to have to use a key and press a button, as well as having to tell anyone (like valet parking stations) that you need to press the red button to start it....they are like WTF ?

It is just as you said a novelty, it would be nice if it could be disabled with the WDS, rather than having to play with the wiring.

Well dont know yet about the BFs, but there was only 519 F6s produced Australia wide.. Just this was enough for me (esp when compared to XRTs).. without all the other features mentioned above. Also:

Alarm, lock nuts, Shift alert, and 100NM extra torque (over the mk11 in my situation anyway, less difference for the BF range at around 80nm), better seats, cloth/suede, certificate of authenticity... It all adds up mate, and all under warrenty which is a big + for me (5 yr).

Do the math’s …….and taking into considerations all the options it’s cheaper to buy the F6.

Then when it comes time to sell the Optioned up XR6T it will just be another T and you will never get the money back on the options whereas the F6 has these STD so its re-sale will reflect the F6 not an XR6T so at the end of the day its  ….a No Brainer ..

Why pay the same $ for an XR6T when you can have the F6?????

I’m sure you will appreciate it come re-sale time :spoton:

I mean if you have the cash to option up an XRT to that spec you must have the cash to buy an F6.

I agree

Show me a man that argues against the value of a Phoon over a "T" and I'll show you a man that just can't afford a Phoon.

Here is another example:

Buy an F6 Std with no options for say $50k

Buy an F6 with all the options for $60k

18 months later you sell it and the re-sale will be lucky if it’s a $1k difference between the two!!!

You never get the money back on the options ..well not what they cost originally that’s for sure.

The dealers look up the new price STD and then offer a trade reflected of that, not reflective of all the options worst luck. Be nice if they did but sadly all the fancy options you ticked are usually worth JackSh!t come trade time so make the most of them while you have the vehicle.

I optioned mine up with everything full well knowing I won’t get the money back and as such won’t expect it come re-sale time. As a work vehicle I claim my share of tax on it, as such I get the enjoyment out of it as opposed to paying it in tax.

I was always going to buy the XR6T and then the Phoon came out. I purchased it for all the reasons explained above, plus I wanted something unique. XR6's (especially N/A ones) are a dime a dozen.... Don't get me wrong, folks, I love the 'T', but I just wanted something different.

It's good for a about the first 5 starts.....after that it's a major pain in the arse as Zap said.

With todays technology you shouldnt need to have to insert and turn the key then press a button, just like the head unit not being mp3 compatible it's made what could have been a great thing just a dud novelty sale item.
