first pump I wired, was black to black... red to grey, which I thought was just the common sense thing to do... and it worked, it worked for like 6 days, then stopped... I got that other pump, and its doing the exact same thing, im not using the stock lines, im using new fuel injection line running from the outet on the pump to the outlet line on top of the tank...I have a little over a quarter of a tank of fuel too...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I wired mine like that to the first time, common sense said black be earth, wrong.

mine didnt function, swapped the wires, all good.

a tip for the younger players, use only the best 5/16 dia EFI fuel hose, and use EFI hose clamps, I used some small hose clamps the first time, big mistake.

the clamps have a squere edge, and whan the hose expands under the higher pressure, the clamp cuts into the hose.

mine last about amonth, then blew of in tank and left me with no fuel pressure, table top to ford etc, very bad.

now I have the WORTH stainless EFI hose clamps, they have arolled edge and no sharp bits to cut into the hose, 4 month now and all good.

Some other possibilities-

- Your new efi line is too short and the sprung swirlpot isnt touching the bottom of the tank.

-Your efi line is too long and kinks when you compress it to put it in the tank.

How can you chop and change and return it to stock? Didnt you have to cut and join the plug in power lines to the walbro? How can you then just chop and change fuel pumps?

The power to the fuel pump actually comes from 2 different relays. When you turn the key to the on position, the same position the key sits after you start your car, it uses the designated fuel pump relay.

When you turn the engine on and it cranks over, there is a separate relay that kicks in to give the fuel pump more power while cranking, and the designated power supply actually comes from the computer.

I would have it fixed now too, but I dont have my car at the moment, its in getting the new cooler piping... when I get it back I will be trying again... and im hoping the problem is just wrong connections, because the hose length seems fine, can touch the bottom of the tank... but its not long enough to kink the hose while its on the bottom... thanks for everyones input... much appreciated.
