Yeah, My wife keeps saying be paitent  you will get it soon.

I was one of thoes kids that had to know what he was getting for Christmas and would place my order for Birthday presents 3 months before the day...

I am not a good waiter...I have never waited for a car.....but I think this one is worth the wait, I just hope its not a Monday morning or Friday arvo build

I know the options I have chosen will add to the build time as the Luxury pack is not available until April, but I can only hope.

Thanks all for the comments and assistance

Ford can call the trucking company and give you delivery details from there. This is using just a SIDO because at that stage, the car has no rego. They did for me.

They can only do this once the car is actually assembled and has been transferred to the trucking company!

Id say, with a SIDO like that, it would still be bare metal....... wouldnt be painted or anything.

Yeah sorry - that's how it was for me. I knew the car had been built but the sales guy was giving me the stalling routine (if you remember the dramas I had) and told me the car wasn't ready to be shipped.

13Ford gave me dates etc and were spot on. But as you say, only after the car had been built.

So when I first enquired about getting an F6, the delivery date was 'last week of November.' Then, a week later when I signed the papers, it was Dec 15.

Then two days later, it was changed to 23rd December. "You mongrels," I said. "I was assured that the 15th was easily achievable. It's booked on a boat to Tassie on the 23rd. Any chance you can get it to me on the 21st, or even better the 18th?" The reply was an altogether unencouraging "I'll try my best."

The fleet company rang me yesterday afternoon (at 5 minutes until beer o'clock) and said "the delivery date is now the 29th of December," as though this was good news to me. "I'll be interstate!" I protested. "Oh yes, we know that. I'm sure that Paul from <dealership> is trying hard to get it to you early. I just thought I'd let yu know. Bye!"

Now, I know that these sorts of things happen with new cars and all, and that it's naive of me to expect it to be delivered on time, but :gooff: YOU TOOLS, GIVE ME MY CAR ALREADY. I'm not really in a position to drive my current car to Tassie, and alterations to my well-laid plans won't be met kindly by myself or others.

Thanks all for listening :ermm:

That sucks, hit the dealer up for a loaner for the period that you will be without your car.

They won't be happy knowing you are clocking up k's in Tassie but I'd ask anyway.

Should be like the building trade, you sign a contract to have the building delivered by a fixed deadline, if they can't deliver on time they have to pay you rent from that day until you get the house.

The dealers doing his best, what a load of sh*te that is. They have next to no control over when your car comes.

There's one for sale at a dealership in Lilydale (Melbourne) Ring them up and see if you can get it for the same price (less your deposit paid already so your not out of pocket) Then you can tell the dealer to go  a dog!

sorry to hear - I have been enquiring about your car this week, your boss told me things were not looking good.

I took delivery of my T on 23rd Dec '03, so I was cutting it close, come to think of it, I was told the car would be ready by Dec 15th also...anything to get a sale.
