My dealer wouldn't give me a specific date. I ordered June 19th and I asked if I'd have it by the last week of september. They said I should. I picked it up on the 19th September minus the alarm kit. I was basically given the choice of with alarm installed pickup on monday, without alarm pick it up Friday and bring the car the following week to get the alarm installed. I chose the later ;) There was no way I was going to wait anaother weekend ;)

I was promised within a two weeks range(late August to second week of September. I got it on the 29th of August. So it was spot on.

Has the dealer even got the car? Wasn't there a production line delay with the supply of new calipers?

Original delivery date - June 30.

Actual delivery date - September 16 :outahere:

That's what you get for living in the colonies. I made sure that I let Ford know what I thought about their ridiculous allocation policy. Novated lease company conceded that they should have ordered on an Eastern States dealer with delivery into Perth.

Our car will be leased for 4 years throught the company. So what happens is, the dealership gets in contact with a guy at dads work, and the guy at dads work gets in contact with us.

The XR8's that they have took only 2 weeks to arrive....GRRR!

Ah well.... I spose I'll have to put up with the LTD for a few more days.

Oh and the company has not informed us of what dealership the car is being delivered to. I think it would be Southside ford at Woolongabba, or Metro ford in the city.

If its on a lease then it will be shoved to the bottom of the pile. Whay my dealer was hoping was that I got so frustrated with it that I cancelled the order so they could sell the car for full retail (got 10% discount through Leaseplan as 'preferred' dealer).

Good luck and hope your experience is better than mine but be prepared for difficulties. As I told my dealer, I couldve built it myself out of matchsticks quicker

The 1st car (that had the wrong colour interior: "Plexis Grey") was actually a week early. The 2nd one, well hmmm. It was right on time. Just had to wait from late October to mid January for another build date. Delivery was one day before my birthday, 29th January`03.

It was good in a way. More time to clear some debt and we scored a few extras from the dealer for jerking us around. Rear power windows, XR scuff plates, LSD....etc.
