Guest P'cisT Guests Posted 20/06/03 12:28 PM Share Posted 20/06/03 12:28 PM Another dealer visit (my local guy, finally). He said he would guarantee an October delivery if I ordered this month. I am looking for November delivery so this is not an issue. He said that he could probably get the T in September without a problem so that's three months. So would delievry date need to be negotiated during the purchase to ensure an early delivery date? I just thought they put everyone in order. So after the test drive on Monday with the wife it could be order time! B)

My dealer here in Geelong is the biggest dealer in Victoria so probably have the largest allocation, that's why I believe delivery should only be three months. People I know in Geelong with turbos all got theres in around 3-4 months. The delays experienced by other people in different cities is probably effected by this dealer allocation. There are no delays on Turbos at the moment, and the Turbos use the same cams as the standard six. I guess it all depends on where you live. My new XR8 took five months for delivery because of the delays on the autos but it was worth the wait.

I've ordered mine with one of the biggest dealers in Perth but their turnover would pale in comparison with the larger ES dealers. We are after all in the colonies :D

I am a little worried that this date may now blow out after reading some of the posts here. I am now thinking of getting a different colour from another dealer which they have available now. Still trying to decide hmmmmm

So it seems the more they sell the longer you'll have to wait.He also said they've had to buy cars at up to $3000 over cost to fill orders that were starting to waiver so hang in there all you guys waiting for your 'birds' I beleive the wait will have been well worth it.I'm just glad my wait is finally over. Ten weeks has been looong enough for me.
