Guest P'cisT Guests Posted 18/06/03 01:44 PM Share Posted 18/06/03 01:44 PM We build approx. 30 a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. Is the amount per day determined by the amount of turbo engines that are coming in or is it due another factor?
Guest Mac_Dude Guests Posted 19/06/03 02:01 AM Share Posted 19/06/03 02:01 AM I have just been told by one dealer, that if I order this week we are looking at a Jan/Feb delivery date! This is ONLY for the T's the N/A's are no problem This will impact what I buy so I am "not happy Jan"...

This is unbelievable, one of the best cars they've ever built and they're asking people to wait 6 months. What else is there apart from turb, plumbing, different chip and a few other bits and pieces, that is causing this delay, FMCO needs to redirect some of these "plentiful" non turbo's and fit turbo's to them how hard can it be. Venom can you shed some light?

I was actaully hoping, by luck, to get the car in earlier than that. Now I am hoping I actually get it November, no latter.

The amount of turbos built per day depends on how many are scheduled to be built. The motors are built on line and then hot tested before the turbo installation is assembled off line by hand which is why they are built in small numbers. Guest catlike Guests Posted 19/06/03 12:01 PM Share Posted 19/06/03 12:01 PM A few weeks back I was told my delivery had been pushed back to August - that was tough to take :o I got an e-mail from LeasePlan today telling me that my delivery is now September 19! I just don't get it? I rang them and ripped into the State Manager, he rang me back a couple of hours later after supposedly talking to Ford and started quoting figures like 300AU XR's for 12 months versus over 1500 of the BA model - who the hell cares! I just finished reading a post where a 4 month delivery took place with heaps of options and another where a 1 month delivery was quoted - what the hell is going on here? I'm not the only one over here - I know a guy who ordered in late January expecting a 3 month wait - his delivery blows out a month every month. The latest he has is late July. You can just about get the rest of the range off the bloody shelf! Is it because I'm in Perth? I would really like to write to the chief at Ford (anyone got an e-mail address?) and point out how their Customer Service is non existent - I want some REAL reasons why I have to wait 6 months for a locally produced car. I can not help but believe that I am being sacrificed for Eastern States sales. I think I could wait if I really believed that September was going to happen but I am sure that it will go out again. I don't think Ford could care less if I cancelled the order and I have told LeasePlan that I will consider doing this over the next few days. I'd consider paying a little extra and getting the XR8 but they don't deserve it - if I do cancel it looks like the General gets the nod. :(
