Craig called me today with great news!!!

My car has commenced construction.

Bit of a surprise actually, as I only ordered the car two weeks ago and it was looking like being an April build car at one stage, but I'm not complaining.

Roll on 2 weeks!!

I bought mine from Southside Ford, they seemed really good as I got caught up in all the crap that goes on with buying a car, but these guys seemed really nice.

I find it amazing how some people are told a delivery date and some aren't

I bought mine early february and told April. I ring up and was told late april but might be early april. How far out can they tell you when it will be ready?

The problem is I have to do 37000k's on my current car, I have done 30000k's but I am not allowed to go over this amount by more than 50ks, otherwise it voids my trade in. But If I get there too soon I am going to be without a car for a couple of weeks. There are no problems about me not making 37000 I'll just take a day off work and drive up and down the freeway a couple of times.

I ordered mine from Southside Ford first week of Jan and I pick it up this Thursday or Friday. They rang not long ago and asked me to call in and have a look at it tomorrow.

This is about four weeks earlier than they told me when ordering.

The delivery date is vague though and along the way I have had numerous dates given to me and based on them sold my car too early...leaving me with a rental for the last 10 days

I found NO Brisbane based dealer would offer ANYTHING other than retail

Southside however locked in the price to order date which meant they ended up cheaper on delivery than the others...they were also "less slick"

Another dealer with the nicest showroom had sales staff that were on an ego trip about their sales...they tipified everything we all hate about car salespeople...nearly actually sneered at me because I was interested in buying a $50K car...I am in sales and their attitude staggered me...anyway...off to bed...its 8:30pm...and two more sleeps

I ordered an XR6T with premium sound and 18 inch wheels on 25 January (from Byrne Ford in Brisbane). The dealer rang this afternoon to say it had just arrived. I expect to pick it up early next week.

I knew I should have driven to Brissy to buy it. The wait is making me go crazy.

The dealer rang to say that my XR6T auto, blueprint with 18 inch wheels, premium sound had just arrived.... Fantastic! finally it has arrived.

Unfortunately dissapointment was to follow!!!!!!!

I went to inspect it today, only to find out that the colour was not blueprint but silver. I had my heart set on blueprint. The dealer is indicating that it will probably take weeks before the right one turns up. Could take months.

Where did the stuffup occur. The dealer seems to think his paperwork is in order; that leaves Ford as the culprit.

Where do I go from here?????

any suggestions!!!!

Personally I would wait and demand some discounts or a loan car untill the proper one arrives. Better off getting what you want or you will always be looking at your ride and wishing it was something else.

What a monumental stuff up.

Does the sido number match? Is it supposed to be your car?

I can understand"sorry mate looks like they didn't put your scuff plates on" or "looks like they missed the side air bags" but "come and get your car we have the silver blueprint XR6T here" Whats that?

When they get the right car in you'd better check under the bonnet to make sure they stuck a turbo on.

What a joke.
