I'm from Brisbane.

I ordered an XR6T with premium sound and 18 inch wheels on 25 January. According to both the dealer and Ford, it is scheduled to leave the factory on 28 February. I was given a SIDO number a couple of weeks after placing the order.

So I expect to take delivery around March 7. The dealer told me that he has managed to reschedule my car so that is delivered ASAP.

If all goes to plan, then it sounds like I would have done pretty well.

Ordered 20th December and still don't have a SIDO.

The theory on fleet buyers and position in the queue is turning into fact.

Time to ring the dealer again - a friendly reminder is due.

Some of you guys have ordered more than a month after me and look like getting the T smile well before me.

I ordered my XRT ute in November, and I have just been told 5 minutes ago that it is on a truck on it's way here today. What do you think my chances are by having it delivered on Friday????? Buckleys I would say. Oh well, what is one more weekend when I have waited that long.

I purchased from Metro Ford - Ian Provan is the man. No s**t, straight up and down. He is even going to be in the car when it is driven during pre-delivery. I don't want anyone flogging my brand new car!

I ordered my car about a week ago from Metro Ford in Brisbane. I got a call yesterday to say that the car will be an April Production. The dealer said that cars will be assigned to orders at the end of March (Don't know if that's true) and he will call me on the 28th of March to let me know of a delivery date.

That sounds right to me - mine is an April build as well. I was told that assignments woudl be done around the 25th March and that I could ring and get that date anytime after that.

Say...

If you ordered yours a week ago and its april build, and I ordered mine 4 weeks ago - does that mean mine will be early April? I woudl think that if they are still quoting April build then I must have just missed out on a march build and therefore should be towards the head of the queue for April??

Does that sound right - or do the order the build cars based on other factors - like colour and options rather then when they were ordered????

That would seem logical if you ask me. I would say mine would probably end up being early May or at the best late April.

All,

Just finished talking to Craig Waller at Westpoint.

My car is now locked - which means production should start in a couple of days !!!!!

Craig told me that some of the delays are due to FPV who fit premium brakes and plumb the turbo.

However Ford still are not being helpful with info.
