Its all coming together now my ute begins on the line on the 14th feb which is a 5day process, then delivered to FPV for 2days where fitting of turbo, intercooler, and most of the good bits, then gets pre delivery to rex gorrell ford in geelong where hard top, spoiler, tow pak and other extras get fitted. While all this is happening my 18" are being polished to give that showroom mirror finish.

I must say its been worth the wait since I ordered it on the 8th november, and the day I get it ill post a pic on here for all you to look at.

Ordered mine out here in Cobar first week of December and got the keys on the 9th January. And there was a Christmas break in there. Had leather, premium sound & auto as options which had to be factory, not dealer. So I must have been one of the luck ones. Hope there's some better news in line for you guys.

Are you sure that's how it happens?

I remember reading somewhere (Motor or Wheels Probably) that the BA XR's are the first to be built entirely on the production line, and not finished at Tickford/FPV, with the exception of things like sunroofs...

Also there is a link on the New Falcon website http://203.89.210.4/ that lets you enter the VIN or SIDO of your car and once it has been built they email you pics of it being built....very cool.

Looking at the pic of my car getting its driveline fitted, even though it is a low res pic you can still see something under a heat shield with an exhaust pipe coming out of it, looks like a turbocharger to me. But I have been wrong before.

I ordered mine in late Oct, told it would come in early Dec so I thought if I had to wait. I might as well wait for a 2003 model in mid Jan (better resale, one day far from now).

But the rotten sods at Geelong were too efficeint and got ahead of schedule and built it in late Dec. I was told if I wanted a 2003 car to go to the end of the que and wait till April.

Yes I am another fleet buyer.

No I did not wait till April.

Yes I love my XR6T.

Im positive this is the process you maybe right about the turbo on the enging.

But a friends is putting my car together on the production line making sure I don't get any defect panels that usally get repaired during ford manufature (other words no reject parts that they fit after being repaired). He's also making sure I get a few extra's can't mention right now but will post once I get it. My car will be destinctive to other xtr6.

But after the 5 days on the production line it goes to FPV for 2 days what they actally do there is 1 fit intercooler and any other parts that im not really sure. Apparantly its only across the road from broadmedows factory.

I ordered mine on 27 January and was told to expect delivery in June :(

Also told by the dealer that no preference is given to retail over fleet.

Oh well, all good things come to those who wait B)

that's a long wait but worth it. are you fleet?

BTW - there IS a difference between retail and Fleet, my original order was pushed out by 2 - 4 months once retail demand skyrocketed....Fleet are usually last on the list.

I ordered mine in mid November and was told delivery date of Feb 15th.

Got a call today saying it had not been started yet and would probably not be ready before the end of Feb.

Bummer...

Turbo, itself, is built as part of the engine in Geelong. Engine assembly is fitted with g/box attached as per photo in this thread. Cars are transported to FPV to have intercooler and associated plumbing fitted. All AU XRs had to go to Tickford to have front and rear bumpers and big wheels fitted. BA N/A XRs are built online except for FPV fitted OPTIONS, ie. sunroof, big wheels, etc
